When in Bangkok, you really need to be careful about hotel and resort photos. Many of them are not accurate at all, posting glamour shots when rooms are truly outdated, worn out and sometimes dirty. Romance serviced apartments is one of these places. What you see in the photos looks quite luxurious but what you get when you arrive there is quite the opposite. Mattresses in the non-suite rooms are very low quality. Many of the common room amenities such as dishes, etc. are not provided unless you pay extra. The staff while not unpleasant, seem to have an "I could not care less" attitude, and the mythical Thai smile is a rarity. Be careful not to book a room on the side where the restaurant and nightclub if you're a light sleeper. The cost is not as much as nicer area accommodations but there's no great deal to be had. You simply get what you pay for and in a somewhat stingy, un-flexible manner.
