Had the pleasure of staying here 3 nights and will definitely call again if in Palmerston North. I had the smaller studio but even so it has a large bed (Queen?) as well as the single I used for great sleep. The open plan area works well. Plenty of room, even a large table for the laptop etc and a separate table to meals. Neat, well stocked kitchen with surprisingly generous, quality no charge items in the fridge, pantry and fruit bowl.
This unit is upstairs but there's only a garage underneath so there's no noise from the only other unit on site which is 2 bedroom on ground level about 5 metres away. The furnishings are very relaxing in colour and style, making it an inviting place to stay.
My only suggestion would be to add Channel 26 (Firstlight) to the TV and a short power multi box for easier connection of various chargers at the work table.
Shower pressure is stunning, enough to end a Queensland drought overnight! Palmy was having a warm spell with temps in the upper 20's so the room would get hot during the day. This was easily fixed by leaving the curtains closed and ceiling fan running when away during the day. It's handily near the airport too but I did not hear any aircraft.
Thanks again for the friendly, personal service.
5 minutes drive from the airport, the airport shuttle service costs NZ$18. Located in a quiet, peaceful location, and a well stocked kitchenette provides a nice restful stay. The owners are very friendly and helpful. To cap it all the owner is an All Black; Neven (Ned) MacEwan.
I had an excellent stay at this quiet and peaceful 2 bedroom cottage in Palmy. Ideal for me on business with internet access, office desk, ample living area and very clean and well presented amenities.
With a hearty selection of breakfast choices in the fridge and pantry included in the price, this accommodation is A+ for value for money.
My hosts were very accommodating and friendly, making the overall experience a pleasure. I would highly recommend the AB Cottage to anyone looking for a quiet and indendent stay in Palmerston North.
