We stayed overnight en route to Italy. Reception was welcoming, the building tidy and reasonably modern and the receptionist helpful. However the rooms were a big disappointment. When you stay at a Campanile, or any similar hotel, you know it won't be five star but this was not at all good. The bed linen and towels were clean but grey with continual washing, the rooms dreary but most important of all, what is needed is a proper clean - not just with a broom and mop on the floor but a thorough deep clean.
As we'd be travelling all day, we did not want to drive for an evening meal so ate at the Hotel. In complete contrast, the meal was well cooked, well presented and tasty.
Next morning, Bastille Day, breakfast was ok even if the sole person on the site was rushed through trying to deal with people checking out, laying out breakfast and warming food.
I've stayed in Campanile hotels before and as budget hotels they have been fine but based on this experience, I think it unlikely I will do so again.
