I have been recently staying at a place called Casa Ruby for an extended stay. It definitely has a fairly good location being in a residential area but fairly close to downtown Davao City. I believe it is considered to be in the city proper area but I don't really know for sure. If it is not then it is only a few blocks away. Anyway, you only need to take a short taxi ride which costs very little to any one of the three of the 5 different malls in order to go shopping. The other two malls are a little farther away.
One of the streets this small hotel happens to be located on allows for easy access to taxis. One step out the door and it is rather simple to get a taxi fairly quickly. The location is also right next to a convenience store and a few other stores. Half a block away will be another major road that extends through much of the city so it gets fairly good traffic.
The rooms at Casa Ruby although not necessarily luxurious, they definitely are comfortable. Two of the rooms do have some luxury and therefore are a little more expensive than the others but they all are very helpful on the budget. Those that are interested in hotels like Marco Polo might not be interested in this accommodation.
A nice fun feature they have has to be their karaoke system. It offers a lot of fun for those that are interested in singing.
They definitely have a nice enclosed patio area that has been very well-kept with foliage and other items you would normally see in a comfortable garden area.
They do seem to keep it fairly well secure for their patrons stay. It is nice to feel secure when you are traveling to a country you are not totally familiar with.
Anyway, this place offers a very comfortable night stay while not taking tons of money out of your pocket at the same time. Those that will be interested in luxury like those major hotels deliver possibly will not be interested in Casa Ruby. However, those that might be interested in something very comfortable at an affordable price should look into this place as a possible location to stay for the night.
