万象旅客之家 (Vientiane Travellers House)

我们住在一个私人房间真是太恶心了。 床的一边用过的纸巾和整个的地面和墙体都很脏。 他们还让你把鞋子脱在外面这点我不喜欢因为最后你洗洗脚由于污垢。 这里的员工非常友好而且早餐很体面。 他们有一个漂亮的狗。

还有一个漂亮的公共区域,楼下有一个台球桌,和每晚的快乐时光（免费Whiskey Lao）造就了很好的社交氛围。 值得注意的是,他们的啤酒看起来有点贵,与之相比,你可以在便利店就在拐角处。 他们还提供了一个不错的早餐（面包,香肠,鸡蛋）包含在房价里,果汁和水果。

Booked and paid for a triple room online and was travelling with 2 other friends when we arrive they say they never received our booking and are "full" but will take us to their other guesthouse. Then they say we can walk its inly 600metres away. Umm no way not with back packs and hot sun!, We refuse and ask for our money back. Manager was irate and extremely aggressive. Then we notice in his book our name and point to our actual booking. He then admits there is no triple room for us but can put us in 2 double rooms with shared bathrooms which are suddenly now free at the travellers house. again we refused and stood our ground and we eventually got our money back in cash. We walked 10m down the road and stayed in a really nice hotel and it was CHEAPER. Avoid!!!!!

This is the worst accomodation in regards to value for money that I have stayed in during my last six months of traveling - its overpriced and underdelivering For people who have not noticed it yet - Funky monkey guesthouse and the Vientiene travellers Home are the same! I stay in a 8 person mixed dorm. The room was really small, with dirty walls and bad matrasses. The dorm door could not be locked, that means that all 48 people that stay in the four dorm rooms there have unlimited access to each room. Each bed supposingly has a locker. Unfortunately in our room for 8 people, only 5 lockers were in working condition, so I ended up without one. And the staff is not bothered to get the lockers fixed. The staff in general cannot really be classified as frendly or helpful. And even if you do have a locker, you can just lift up the matrass and have unlimted access to everybodies laptops etc. Downstairs in the common area it is extremely noisy, which would not be a problem - but the door to our dorm room could not be closed at all - it always remained a gap open (the owners also know that and are not bothered), so the full noise from the people downstairs drinking and playing pool was to be heard in the room. Moreover, there is a TV on the wall, and the staff of the guesthouse likes to watch TV in a really, really high volume, and not a simple show, but something that was just really annyoing - I ended up packing up my laptop and went to the room, because I could not stand the noise there anymore - but the room was also noisy, as the door could not be closed. The bathroom was actually quite ok with a rainfall shower and hot water - but it had to be shared with 24 people - one bathroom with shower and toilet for 24 people - you cannot even imagine how long the wait was.... even if you just needed to use the toilet. The bathroom was somewhere in the centre of the building, and there was not enough fresh air connection, which let to the connecting wall in the hallway to be covered in Fungus, so was the wall under the one bed. The wet wall also attraceted mosquitos, and there were loads of mosquitos in the room - and no mosiquito net for the beds. The Internet connection was also very poor. They did have 3 different WIFI networks, but it constantly disconnected - I had the same problem with both devices that I used - I guess too many people are using it at once. Moreover, in the dorm room the internet signal was so weak, that it would not connect at all. One good thing though was the breakfast. The omlette was very tasty, so was the bread. The Bananashake however, could harldy be called a shake, no ice, no milk, just bananasyrup and water. There are plenty of guesthouses around in VIentiene - I would advice you to really get a different place instead - this hostel is not worse the money at all - its a rip off, not taken care of. I moved after one night to the Mixay guesthouse, which was one street further, which offers clean single rooms for 70.000Kip and Dorm rooms for 40.000Kip - that are better then the ones in Funky Monkey.

This place is the best for the atmosphere, the owner is friendly, the dorm is cheap enough and pretty clean, just like the bathroom. If you want to meet people, go to this place! And don't forget to be there in the evening for the free whiskey!
