don't know where to start.... we spent a night at the Cochin heritage hotel and i must say the hotel doesn't look or feel anything of what its published on various holiday or must stay places in Kerala or in India.
to began with we had made our bookings through hotels.com and when we got to the hotel, the receptionist couldn't even speak English and he said he never heard of hotels.com.
i am sure that would be bad for the reputation of hotels.com as well as tourists who believe the websites blindly and travel to such hotels imagining its going to be an awesome stay.
no WiFi in place, room service very poor, poor breakfast, airport drop very pricey, staffs not professional at all, mosquitoes at night time, leaking AC.... don't know what else to add.
for me these things are enough to ruin your stay and your good night sleep.
I am currently staying here. Room is very good. Food is good, but price is high for the quality. Worst part of this hotel is the service. On my way to hotel from airport, I called reception to tell the driver the exact hotel location. No one picked the phone. After a while, we were lucky to somehow find the hotel. The same service continued after reaching hotel. I dialed reception, room service or house keeping many a time - no one will ever pick the phone. The hotel also offer many things such as daily newspaper, mineral water, iron board, mini bar, coffee maker etc. You never get anything by default. Some of them such as newspaper can be obtained by talking to receptionist. However, some of the them like minibar, fireplace etc are out of the question. The rating I gave is mainly due to the poor quality of service. This has to be changed or lose your customers. I don't think anyone will ever want such service a second time.
We spent one night at Cochin Heritage Hotel. The rooms were clean. However, the service was poor. The staff was not trained to handle basic requirements. The quality of the food served was also poor and there was hardly any variety. The hotel is situated far away from the city. The power supply to the room used to be interupted because the key could not fit in properly in the key hole !! The name is a complete misnoner. It was a very bad experience overall
Cochin Heritage Hotel was where we spent the last night on our trip to Kerala. The rooms were agreeably clean and well kept. The location is about 6-7 kms from the railway station(market place), but for what we paid it did not seem uncompromisable. The restaurant cannot be relied on, it had a name sake menu, but served only a fraction of the listed dishes. Terribly slow service Best to eat out and return only to spend the night. I've never used internet at a hotel so was shocked to find they charged me 50 bucks for 5 minutes of usage at their business center which was actually an architect's office! The staff makes efforts to understand English, but none of them really understand anything besides Malayalam. The billing was a nightmare, we were billed for food that we hadn't ordered. The receptionist had to print 4 different bills before finally getting it all right. Long story short, clean, reasonably comfortable, affordable. You get your money's worth and leave with mixed feelings.
