arrived in airport, all the hotels i had reservations for somehow got booked up anyway, so we went to govt. of india tourist helping place not knowing any better, he offered place called livasa. we agreed cause we were just tired and needed sleep.
taxi took us to red castle instead, what a dive. looks nice on the outside, but total garbage in the room we stayed in. no indoor heating, the bathroom sink leaked, the toilet handle leaked, the toilet seat was busted, no shower curtain(not a common thing in india tho it seems)... lots of big scratchs on the wall, soo much noise outside it was hard to sleep since im a light sleeper. old newspaper in the cupboard that looked kinda moldy. stains all over the couch.
The food sucked, they tried to scam us multiple times on room charge amount, double charging us for food, we asked for them to order a taxi and they got some guy to come in and offer us a trip deal after we declined it.
Would not reccomend.
We were taken here by a taxi driver after arriving at the airport very early in the morning - we would have preferred somewhere cheaper, but we were too tired to argue.
The room was adequate, with air con and a fan and 2 single beds, but the bathroom could do with some attention. It was clean enough, but had clearly seen better days. However from our following experiences with accommodation in India we soon came to the conclusion that this was quite a nice place!
It was pretty straightforward to get the metro into the centre of Delhi. There's a pretty good restaurant in the hotel that does room service.
We decided to pick this hotel based on the recommendation of the delhi tourism personnel at the airport. The staff were friendly and efficient, however the hotel is dingy and dirty. We stayed in a double room that was tolerable enough, but the bathroom was appalling. It was badly maintained, with terrible facilities. The room service is decent, and the hotel has a small room with one ancient computer that serves as its internet cafe. The room had air conditioning and a television, and a nice bed-utilitarian, but the terrible bathroom ruined the whole experience. The only saving grace was that the hotel is conveniently located in Karol Bagh, close to the railway station, to CP and to Delhi University. The overall experience at Red Castle was terrible in comparison to the price of the room. I wouldn't recommend it for families, or couples travelling to Delhi.
this se edy hotel needs redecorating or at least spring cleaning---the bathrooms are equipped with rusty dirty geysers,we stayed twice for 3 days but didn't really want to return ,booked with last minute.com----and what were those black beetles scurrying around---but they did change the sheets and grey towels everyday, the cleaning staff were fighting a losing battle, there was also no fridge and no pickup from airport although arranged with last minute from england ----ann blacklock
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights on our arrival in India. They have a free pick-up service from the airport, which worked. The personnal were very friendly and helpful. The place is clean but a bit worn. The hotel is situated in Karol Bagh and close to the Metro station of Karol Bagh. If you want to walk it's about 3 km to Connaught Place. Channa Market is in the vicinity and this is were the Indians go to shop.
