My friend had booked this place on Agoda and paid for a room for 2 nights. When we arrived Atul said there was no room available. We showed him our reservation, he said he doesn't work with Agoda and works with AirBnB. He said one of his guest decided to stay longer so the room we were trying to book was not available, and he tried to cancel with Agoda but we never got any cancellation notice. After a while of back and forth, he suddenly said yes we have a room available for you he would just need a few hours to clean up. The room he showed us was occupied by his family. The bathroom was also shared with his family. He did not mention any of this. He also tried to charge us more because he claims that the room we are staying is bigger than the room we booked. We refused him because 1) he did not manage his availability and tried to blame Agoda 2) he gave us a room that was definitely not up to renting standards.
If you want to book this place, be sure to do it on AirBnB so you don't have to go through what we went through.
We met another traveler who was staying here in a coffee shop near by, and he said it's not the first time Atul messed up the reservations.
This room is in a great spot -- just a few minutes (and incredibly cheap) by rickshaw to Chadni Chowk, Jama Masjid, Red Fort, bazaars, the spice market, and several temples. The space is roomy with a high ceiling. The bed was hard, which I believe is typical in India. The room was perfectly clean and had wifi, air conditioning, and a TV. There was a large dresser and a refrigerator, too.
Atul is a great host! I asked him to arrange a taxi for my arrival. Instead, he picked me up himself and we had a nice chat on the way to the room. He recommended several restaurants in the area and had some suggestions for my touring. His mom had made some sweets for me, as well. Atul was easy to contact by text on Whatsapp and answered numerous questions for me. It was a great stay!
Atul has been super helpful and the room was great. I stayed twice there during my travel in india.
The area is very well located even of the neighborhood is a busy noisy one. But hey it's India ;-)
Had 2 different rooms and both were spacious, comfortable and quiet.
I Will come back!
Pros: Atul is very helpful, and the location of this B&B can be regarded as perfect -- near to everything: Red fort, Jama Mosque, cinema, market, McDonald... The room is large, with TV, AC and even a kitchen.
Cons: The room is quite paint-smell, which made us not sleep well and would not like to stay inside for long. The street outside is quite noisy all day and night (maybe the busiest street in Delhi). The bathroom seems quite dated.
Overall, it deserves a short drop, if the paint-smell pass.
