Travel fellows, yesterday arrived from Jordan. Nice experience, and definetely not because of Burda.
The hotel is 30-35 minutes from the airport, not near the city center, which is like 10 minutes ride. It is located on a hill, and for that reason the reception is on the 5th floor, and rooms are spread through the 2nd and 8th floors... the first floor is the "restaurant", minigym and pool (outside).
We had a 3 nights stay, first 2 nights and one night, which wasmerely 5 hours to have a room to rest until our driver pick us up to the airport but still got charged the whole rate. Whatever!
First room 201 - at first glance nice, but a short inspection to the toilet showed that housekeeping is an issue there. Dirty floor, with traces of "cleaning with mood water", hairs in the bathtub, dirty sink and night table. Since we understood that for locals that's no a problem we decided to clean ourself as we could and forget about that, otherwise our holidays could be spoiled at its very beginning. No way!!
Rooms are big enough, nice sleeping, but that was all!
No internet available in room 201-the only spot with wifi was the bathroom!!!! think about it, to surf and do your staff you have to seat in the tub or the toilet ... not funny, huh?
Second room 304 - big, this was clean, but the shower had some issues with the hose and showerhead, as well as the door of the shower cabin. WIFI available, though!
Breakfast is fine, but dont expect omelette or boiled eggs.. some beef bacon, local food, some juice (no fresh, ofc), bread, some jam and pastries...for me that's enough...
The two receptionists that did our 2 check ins were really nice.
The last night, after our 11 days trip around, my friend decided to eat before leaving for the airport and we order some chicken breast and greek salad. The price was really nice, compared to the prices we have seen through our trip there, and portion of greek salad was huge! I even share half with my friend and was satisfied.
What a fantastic find! A fresh, modern hotel but with a welcoming, homely feel. All of the staff were excellent - friendly, helpful and willing to do anything to make you feel at home.
The rooms are large and even have a kitchenette attached. They are kept spotlessly clean. The rooms are quiet and very comfortable.
It's an easy, short walk to the 3rd circle where there are a few shops and an easy taxi ride - or decent walk into downtown Amman (but get a taxi back - it's a long up hill walk !)
Taxi from the airport cost 40JOD but the airport is 30 mins way.
I'll definitely stay here on my next visit to Amman.
The staff at Burda41 are some of the most accommodating and generous I have come across in Jordan. Nothing is too much trouble. The new roof top bar area has incredible views. The rooms allow for longer term stays, with all the facilities for making it feel like a home away from home. The location is fantastic, just around the corner from third circle. All for very reasonable prices. Many thanks for a wonderful stay!
