owner is nice enough. was willing to negotiate my price for 3 nights to fit my budget, cool. the fact that he spoke no english was negligible.
Got into the room (first floor, next to the entrance) and realized a few things at once. Shower glass was completely shattered and scotch taped up (poorly). There is a strange smell like mold. And there is little to no hot water from the shower itself. It's almost midnight and I'm so tired from my trip (not to mention sick) that i am able to overlook these things and spend the night anyway.
The next day, i sleep in to try and heal up and am woken only by this owner's CRAZY wife (identified later) screaming at either him or a guest. I hear cursing and room keys being thrown and the screaming lasts around 45 minutes. There was hysterical screaming from this woman through the paper thin walls of the entire building at least once a night from this point on. She is a nightmare.
Had a run-in with her when I tried to change rooms, and then change back when the Wi-Fi upstairs didn't work. She yelled at her husband until he knocked on my door and basically forced me to move back upstairs. He would not leave my room until I decided to go back to the new room, promising the Wifi would work soon in our nonverbal gesture language. Great. On my way up, she
made a conscious effort to give me her dirtiest look while I passed her in the hallway. Also great.
Just awful service. Would have gladly paid slightly more money for a more comfortable stay elsewhere. The rooms were clean enough. His daughter was nice as well, I was always thankful when she was at the desk up front. Otherwise, seriously terrible, unforgivably bad place to stay. He and his wife should really reconsider their choice of business or make serious efforts to alter the one they have. If I hadn't paid up front and hadn't felt too sick and exhausted to go through the process of negotiating a refund with this guy, I would have been out the door after the first night.
I saw not a single other guest while I was there. Began to think I was the only person staying there, other than this dysfunctional, unaccommodating family of 3.
Go anywhere else. Literally. Anywhere. You will thank me later.
