We stayed here for a few nights and although we found the room to be clean and spacious, we weren't impressed with the staff or location. The hotel is located far from anything that would be of interest to the average tourist. The beach, river walk, and nightlife are all a taxi ride away. The cost of a taxi isn't expensive, but I'd rather be close enough to walk especially if the cost of a room in more convenient location is comparable, if not less. The front desk and restaurant staff are generally unsmiling and not entirely eager to assist with anything. The housekeeping staff was lovely and maybe they should switch places with the front desk staff?
The first morning there was a buffet for breakfast which was mostly gone by the time we arrived even though it wasn't too late. The next few days we were able to choose from a menu of noodle or rice dishes. There was a cook who did a great job with the breakfast meals so we enjoyed our meal whenever he prepared it.
After a few nights here we moved to a hotel near the river and the Han Market which was half the price of Big Home. Overall, I can't recommend Big Home Hotel at the current rate . Perhaps if they cut their prices in half then it would be a value. In it's current state it's an overpriced hotel without much to recommend it.
Good value hotel for business. Large, well designed comfortable room.
Abit off the river tourist strip, about 15min walk. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.
Staffs English is not very good but they were very empathetic and helpful. As it is business oriented not much information for tourists.
Good breakfast but with limited choices.
Had some issues with cockroaches appearing in my room, but night staff and security did help by using insect spray in my room.
This hotel did not have any foreign tourists when I stayed there, as a result of little foreign activity the staff only spoke minimal English, however they were extremely friendly and eager 2 understand and meet ur requests. The food around the area was superb. Most of the menus were in Vietnamese only, but some staff could speak minimal English and served me delicious meals every time.
A business hotel that is also very nice for tourists. Hotel clerk was very helpful to me when I wanted to buy a plane ticket back to HCMC. Some English is spoken here, I do not speak Viet but was able to communicate what I needed.
