We have always booked this small resort. You arrive on the ferry and walk about 50m to the huts. You walk down a small lane which isn't marked past dirty rubbish littered hours with lots of cats and shanty houses. There is a dumping area. As shown in the photo.
Once there the whole resort is built on the water. The gang way is old and I wouldn't want to walk there after a few beers.
We also stay in room 8. As it's on the water and has a great hammock to sit and read in.
It's not in the tourist area and there is only one restaurant in the area.
The room itself is basic but nice. The place has been run down recently. There was mould on the ceiling on the bathroom and Jetskis start going past at 7am.
The breakfast was very limited, a set menu with a few extras. But it was freshly cooked.
So if you are not looking for a top class hotel, but want a small one with a nice view then stay here.
Personally there are lots of faults, a lack of vision to develop, but the staff were very friendly and the room was clean.
If you want somewhere to stay that is close to the pier and you can then hire a motorbike to tour the island for 300bt, then stay here. We will be back again and we prefer this to the built up other side of the island.
