We have been to the island a few times. We normally stay at sister hotel President. The pros hotel is clean food good very good location compared to President which has steep hill climb. The biggest disappoint for us was that we could not use the outdoor pool as it was freezing. We have enjoyed this experience at President and is part of the fun coming here. We were told by maintenance pool guy it was colder than President and they don't receive that temperature. Which didn't make any sense as in the Roman bath experience there was a shower that was almost boiling. The stones experience is also not here. The indoor pool is nice bu no massage jets. Overall nice hotel but outdoor pool needs to be hot to use. Good decor nice bar and good evening entertainment. But because of non use of outside pool we would prob not come back.
The hotel rooms are quite clean although furnitures are old. Don’t dare to eat here, food is terrible, dining room is filthy, dishes are dirty. We had an all inclusive but we forced the direction to switch to only room reservation. I wonder where the 4 stars come from!!! We will never go back
My husband and I with 5 other friends spent one week February 2019 at the hotel. We did not choose the hotel but the hotel where we were supposed to go did, due to restoration being done. The hotel location is good. It’s close to Ischia Porto and also the main shopping streets. This hotel is a quite large older property, but it’s not well maintained. It needs some remodeling. Our room and bathroom were small, but were fine due to the fact that we did not spend much time in it. The hotel clothing store was lovely and so was the store manager. The bar and dance areas were nice. The staff was very pleasant and I enjoyed their espresso; it was very good. The thermal facilities were not very clean. I don’t believe the mud rooms and the tubs were cleaned every time it was used. I only had mud therapy and massage done. The staff was nice, but worked very fast as they were production workers. I’m used to relaxing atmosphere when I go to a SPA. The thermal indoor pool was fine. I only spent 15 minutes each time.
The dining area was large and comfortable. However, the food was mediocre and salty. Lots of antipasto full of carbohydrates and frozen vegetables warmed up. The breakfast was alright in general; the croissants (cornetti) were good. The coffee so so. The staff was mostly pleasant and the managers were gracious enough to make sure that I got my meals without salt and more vegetarian style.
The worst service came from the reception desk and the manager (il responsabile).
They assign every guest a login and password, but mine did not work. When I went to the reception to report the problem, Alessandra told me that it was not her responsibility to fix my problem and could not touch my phone. I asked her then to whom I should talk, she answered no one, it was probably my phone that it was not working. By the way I have a brand-new iPhone X. She made a face and would not talk to me anymore. The next morning I saw the manager, Sig. Francesco Trani, in his office to complain about Alessandra’s behavior. He never asked me to sit down (they were two chairs at the desk) and behaved exactly like Alessandra. I told him that now I was not surprised of Alessandra’s behavior. She learned it from the best, him Mr. Francesco Trani. I would not go back there.
