Amazing place really great to unwind.
It takes an effort to get there but it well worth it! The most beautiful places are the hardest to get. Love the clean quiet beach, nature and animals. The new bungalows at the beach front really nice and comfortable. Great to relax, but there are also plenty activities like fishing, hiking, snorkeling.
Will definitely go back there again!
During long holiday, I went to Peucang Island and stay in their new villa - Batik Villa. The Batik villa located 10m from the beach, and have a nice "bale-bale" where we can sit, relax and enjoy the ocean.
This villa have 1 queen bed size , dresser, lounge chair with semi open-air bathroom and full meal.
In this island, you can went through the jungle to Karang Copong and watch the sunset (1 hour walking with guide from Peucang Island's staff), has few snorkeling spots, and went to Cidaon to see the bulls.
In Peucang Island, make sure you close your doors and do not feed the animals, they're very friendly though.
What a beautiful island, I was so happy to stay there two wonderful days and nights.
Nature is overwhelming, the sound of the sea, the animals and the wind make you feel very relaxed. The bamboo hut is very nice and comfortabele and also very beautiful. The restaurant has a very good cook. If you like action you can swim, snorkel, go fishing, walk over the island or go and make a tracking in the National Park in Java. Just a short trip by boat to get there.
I loved my stay at Peucang!
My wife and I went to this eco lodge for 3 nights with the objective to do birding at the Ujung Kulon National Park. We were given a room at the so called guest house that urgently needed a refurbishment: it was smelly, dirty and parts of the room were falling apart. For example the door to the toilet was in a terrible shape. The lodge had no air conditioning and electricity only at night, which is both acceptable for such a lodge. The breakfast was poor and not always freshly prepared. The lodge had no WiFi access and no mobile phone signal.
We were transferred to a much better new room in the second night which was very new and more comfortable, though not well-designed: the lightning was by far too dark, some exterior light spots which we could not turn off were brightly shining into our room the whole night, making a good sleep difficult. The room had no wardrobe and no air conditioning or ventilator.
The Peucang island itself is marvellous! Never saw such a nice beach with such fine sand and nice coral reefs nearby for snorkelling.
Birding at the national park was very disappointing: we just came from Sumatra, where we had a top birding experience and in the national park we hardly saw birds. We contracted a local ranger to guide us, but his skills were only average.
If you want to go to Peucang island you will unfortunately have no other choice than to stay in this lodge. But I would not recommend it.
