First night of our Feast India Tour. Quite difficult to find even by our driver who was pretty good. Used as stopover on our way from Delhi to Bikaner, fitting in a chance to view the painted havelis of Mandawa, which were quite good and well featured in a small pleasant town that appears to be getting a fair bit of renovation to bring back the standards set by its old merchants.
The 'resort' wasn't bad but we only saw it in the dark when we arrived and the early morning mist when we left. We didn't see any sign of a pool but, in any case, it would have been much too cold to have used The rooms we had were of good size with huge en-suites and comfortable beds. They were well decorated in heritage style, reasonably lighted and heated with electric fan heaters. The strange thing about it was that it was completely empty - no guests and apparently no staff. The only people we saw after the guy that checked us in were two young chaps (quiet but pleasant and both in anoraks because of the cold) who escorted us across a couple of fields and up an embankment, in the dark, to the neighbouring Desert Resort Hotel for dinner and again through the mist in the morning for breakfast. Both were buffet productions and the dinner, particularly, was not very good - although, in common with the rest of our Rajasthan tour, very expensive compared with other parts of India
The 'resort' was quite some way from the town and not well placed compared with some of the renovated havelis in Mandawa itself
The rooms are large and the grounds wonderful. Service is excellent, all delivered with a friendly smile. The food was taste and selection was excellent. Breakfast was the same, a feast to set us up for the day. The location is perfect for this small town. Overall great experiences - have a swim and enjoy the surroundings.
I reached at the hotel around 5:30 in the evening and was greeted with all smiles everywhere. My basic idea of the holiday was just to relax, And the entire hotel management made sure that I did. Housekeeping was always ready with a smile again, to come at whatever odd time I asked to clean up the room. The entire property is very clean and has open space with every room. I left the hotel feeling like a King and with what they always offered to me......
The fabulous accoutrements for a romantic Rajasthan experience. Friendly & help full staff, wonderful decoration, Beautiful both side gardens, great Indian food and all with incredible atmosphere.rooms are very comfortable and well decorated with well painting. i highly recomanded go there for a great time.
The accommodation is outstanding, the staff are helpful and the hotel itself just screams let me stay another week. We loved it. If you are planning on staying only one night like we did, stay two, the hotel is a real delight and the town is one of the prettiest I had the pleasure of walking around.. It is like stepping back in time but the service is excellent and the food excellent.
