This place is a good value. It is not a fancy place by any means, but neither is the price. The free internet works well. The free breakfast is decent. The room is adequate... and large. The jewel of the place is Aida, the young lady who is almost always at the front desk. Aida speaks English well, which is a rare treat in Kazakhstan. Aida is a sweet young lady. If you ask me, she goes above and beyond the call of duty. Not only did she arrange for a taxi and driver to tour me around the lovely city of Astana one day, but she remained available for the driver to telephone her every time he and I needed a translator, which was more than once or twice. Her patience with us was amazing! I would definitely return to this place.
Friendly staff who speaks English. Great value as we just spent 50 USD for a clean huge twin room with breakfast. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is good. The location is quiet convenient as long as you have searched the transport or the walking path on internet. The migration police for registration is in walking distance. The new district is also not far by bus. The setback would be the sound proof.
I stayed in this hotel in October 2013 on vacation.
Good points: Very friendly staff who speak very good English. Great value for money compared to other accommodation in the city. Good quality room with comfortable bed.
Bad points: It's a fair walk (about an hour) to the centre of the city, but public transport buses are available (but often packed with local commuters).
Clean, comfortable and - while by no means central - walkable to the new part of town. Being located in the old section's reflected in the rates; the lowest I could find for a decent standard of accomodation in a place with sky high prices. The Hilton this most certainly isn't, but by all means pay the average 300 US dollars which hotels of that standard charge. If value for money is what you're after in a place sorely lacking it, look no further and use it as an ideal base to explore this fascinatingly modern city. All the while being indulged by the over-staffed (to your advantage) and meticulous service complementing the predictable functionality of the plain but well furnished and well-heated rooms.
