Booked this hotel as I needed to recuperate after being unwell and travelling further up the coast. Just wanted a nice room with a fridge to keep water cold and a pool to cool off. The booking said this hotel/room had all of the above but it was a huge disappointment. The pool was closed for maintenance, there was no minibar in the room and the room was tiny and not particularly clean. No toiletries in the bathroom as advertised. I went to reception to complain and they told me I could take water from the fridge in reception. I explained it wasn’t the point and I wanted a refund and to move to a different hotel. Got a refund of 220,000 of 299,000 pesos - was only there for about two hours whilst I looked on my phone for another hotel! Do not recommend unless you just want a bed in a good location.
Location was good, and that is it!
The staff is very unprofessional and purely trained. We had an issue with laundry service. They were late with delivery, so I went to check with the reception. They spoke no English and my Spanish is terrible, so it was easier for me to talk to them face to face. They didn't have an idea where my clothes were as they didn't label it properly. So at the end, we had a security guy in the laundry room, showing piece by piece to the security camera. And I was on the reception, saying Si and No. We also had 2 reception girls giggling like crazy. Then, the manager came, furious because off the situation. She wasn't happy how the staff was dealing with the situation. So, she took me to the laundry room, packed my things and sincerely apologised and din't charged me for the service as the part of the apology. She was super professional and I hope she will manage to bring some order to that place.
Rooms are quite old and way less shining and sparkling then on photos. And we had a terrible neighbours (very loud and noisy) and walls are too thin. We can hear them like they were in our room.
Internet was terrible on the 4th floor.
A couple negatives....there were many, many (probably about 30) small flying insects in the room when I checked in. There were not mosquitos that bite, or I would've complained and asked to move rooms. I thought it was very strange though, since the room had no openings to the outside. I spent about 15 minutes swatting most of them. For a hotel of this quality I would think that someone at the front desk would speak English, but I guess not. I'm not upset about that since it is their country and Spanish is the language spoken here, but was just surprised. Made it a little more challenging for me with my limited Spanish.
A big positive, our bus to take us to our next place showed up a little early and we were trying to get the free breakfast in prior to departing. They realized we had to run and so they packed our breakfast to go and the bellhop even ran it out to our bus right as we were about to depart. 5 stars for that service!
Estuve alojado 2 noches. La habitación es cómoda para una sola persona. Para dos es muy chica. Como fui solo, me resultó cómoda. El hotel está muy bien ubicado, en pleno centro de Santa Marta. Es accesible. Tiene asensor y agua caliente. En uno de los últimos pisos tiene una pequeña piscina, pero no tuve tiempo de utilizarla. La atención del personal es excelente. Te hacen sentir como si estuvieras en tu casa. El desayuno no es abundante. Podría mejorar. De todos modos volvería porque tiene muy buena ubicación.
Tiene computadora para huéspedes. Necesité unas impresiones y no me las quisieron corar. Como tenía visa turista tampoco me cobraron los seguros hoteleros.
El hotel es muy bonito, sin embargo, la atención en deficiente. El personal esta hablando entre ellos todo el tiempo, por teléfono o incluso los admisnitrativos bajan e interrumpen mientras los huespedes estan en recepción.
Las habitaciones son cómodas, sin embargo no tienen ventanas que protejan del ruido del comercio y de la calle principal. Por lo que una vez empieza el día es imposible descansar. Las cortinas permiten que la luz ingrese, asi que de día nunca podrás obtener oscuridad total.
El sistema de minibar es terrible, necesitas llamar para que te lleven lo que necesitas.
El restaurante es deficiente, opciones limitadas a inexistentes. Dicen que tienen servicio de las tres comidas pero el 80% del tiempo esta cerrado. O solo te dicen que tienen un pedazo de cero o res.
No hay opciones vegetarianas ni veganas.
Las misma spersonas del hotel son muy ruidosas y depsues del medio día hay ruido por doquier. El internet es pésimo.
Si piensan en ir a la piscina, piensénlo. Esta llena de plumas de palomas.
