Booked to stay here with Low Cost Holidays on 10th October 2012. We were dropped off at Els Pins however not at Els Pins II. After asking at reception in Els Pins we were directed down the street somewhere. Approached several people and other hotel receptions and was eventually pointed in the right direction. No wonder we couldn't find it as there were no signs advertising the apartments, had passed it several times as they look like private resdiential apartments. Found the reception which was shut down with a message on the window which gave me a number to call. Called the number and was given an address in the centre of Salou to collect keys from. Had no idea of how to get there or even of how to call a taxi as there were none to be seen, went on like this untill eventually a lady offered to call one for us. Paid almost 16 Euro to collect keys from the Brisasol office at 2-4 Salou, however was offered another apartment in Salou centre (Los Peces) which suited me as at this time I was hot, flustered and very annoyed at being messed about. I am used too booking an apartment and settling in after to travelling so far not having to run around to chase keys. It turns out that the only reason I was offered another apartment was because Els Pins II had shut down completley a few days after our arrival so we would have been moved anyway. Does nobody tell the holiday booking company this?
Was also told by an English couple who had lived in Salou for 15 years that the Els Pins II apartments were not recommended as they were basically a dive. It's probably a blessing that we didn't stay there as this review may have been worse.
Ended up having an enjoyable holiday in Salou centre, more to do and Los Peces ok as pointed out on the review I left for those apartments.
I was really looking forward to this holiday, it was great dont get me wrong but the apartment and the area is discusting, we either had to walk to salou or catch the bus to have a great day.. reception is small and empty, we handed 150euros for deposit. We got to our room and i thought yuck!! It was clean but the sofa was too small to sleep on, shower head leaked and kept on going hot to freezing, the bath was tiny, my father had to put his legs on the wall to wash him self, id turn the 2ring hob on and i got a shock of the sink, it had no kettle, no tv, we only got a tiny view of the beach, the area had a few bars and a couple of shops but i like shops n that to be everywhere, i like my entertainment, no swimming pool had to use next doors, its discusting would not dare book there again..
Appartment was filthy. i spent the 1st day cleaning. fridge, walls, doors and bathrooms all had unknown stains. the mop they provided was dirty.
you also have to pay €100 deposit. if u arrive after 8pm or during siesta keys need to be picked up in salou and despite assurances from lowcostholidays transfer bus does not wait and we were €15 for a taxi.
we always go self catering and this was the worst ever. no air conditioning no iron no cooker just 2 hobs and pots that had seen better days. u can rent a tv. beds were not comfortable at all.
the location is ok small place called villafortuny u can buy a 10 journey tix for the bus which will take u to salou or cambrills for around €13.
the only good thing i have to say about this appartment is that it is only 2mins from beach.
Not long back from cambrils lovely spot, our arartments on frist glance were basic enough and large enough for our needs, very clean i must add.but three singalong irish in their 40s (respectable) people had no idea that every thing closes down around 1oclock.we were having a debate about a singer one night after coming back from solue around 2 0clock when we got a knock at the door,it was the night caretaker, had no english,he handed me a note to inform me that you cant watch tv loud or speak loud after 12.30 we were not having a sing song.its a case of paper walls. The next night,in bed i could hear the couple next door talking low to each other in bed,not that i was trying to listen but it was 3oclock in the morning no one could sleep if your unlucky enought to get the apartments facing the main road, constant traffic bin lorries and street cleaners at all hours of the morning and the people in the apartments in the back have to put up with freight train tearing past every now and again, lovely spot though.
