This was a great place to stay! Beautiful hotel, beautiful scenery. On the water and has a tiki bar. However, the bar across the street has the best bartenders ever! The guy working at the front desk when we checked in was extremely nice! Everything was great - except I cannot comment on the breakfast. The eggs were gone and whomever was responsible for refilling them wasn't keeping up. So everyone was trying to cook waffles - at the same time. Needless to say, I did not get any
breakfast - it looked good, but since I didn't get any, I cannot comment.
I stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed the property and amenities very much. I stayed on the 2nd floor overlooking the water and marina, relaxing view! The Tiki Bar food was delicious and the service was excellent. Housekeeping was attentive and kept the room clean after leaving for the day. The location was ideal for attending spring training baseball games between Bradenton and Sarasota. Although the flight pattern into Sarasota airport was directly under the property, it was not as annoying as I expected, after 10pm it pretty much ended. Courteous employees and staff. I will be a repeat customer when my travels take me back to the area.
The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. The pool is heated and was very nice. The hotel is in need of updating, but was acceptable. Staff was nice. They serve breakfast, but if you get there early it's hard to get in, if you come toward the end you may not get anything.
Booking at the Ramada Inn was the biggest mistake I have made in quite some time. Although the website discusses renovations, it was done half way. The bathroom tile is disgusting. There is mold or dirt in several areas in the bath tub area and there is a section 12 by 12 around the faucet that looks like it would cave in if you pressed it too hard. The light in the bathroom is old, cracked and flickers when it’s turned on. We chose a water front room with a terrace. There is no terrace! It’s the walk way for people to get to their rooms. Some couple was sitting outside there room in beach chairs, drinking alcoholic beverages and we had to ask them to move their legs to get by. Oh, by the way, the airport is just down the road and the planes fly right over the motel.
Unfortunately, we have one more night here but I would never come back.
I was overall pleased with my stay. My only concern was that the tiled bath tub/ shower combination had tiles caving in around the faucet. Breakfast was an expanded continental fare which included scrambled eggs and bacon and waffles in addition to your basic continental menu.
