We spent two nights at Casa Dodici. It was a delight. From the room “B.B.” we had a spectacular balcony view over the canal and the maritime museum boats.
A few logistical notes for other travelers:
The entrance is off a pedestrian road, about half a block in from a main road. One can drive to the front, but we found it easier to use the free parking in front of the train station and walk.
The train is 1.5 blocks away.
The beach is a 10 min walk
It took us 40 minutes to get to Ravenna by car.
We did have to call the owner when we got there. (We found him in the restaurant below.) The number is on the door.
We would love to go back! Fantastic trip.
So pleased with our choice to stay here in the delightful town of Cesenatico. This is a beautiful little restaurant with rooms by the canal and overlooking the pretty boats of the maritime museum. So good we rebooked it for the end of our holiday. Our room was Birkin, very quiet and cool and quite big enough, with an excellent shower room. Breakfast was served upstairs with fresh fruit and juice, pastries and savoury rolls to enjoy by the wonderful wooden table. Dinners in the downstairs restaurant were based on the local fish catch, but fine dining. The bread was freshly baked, pasta homemade, desserts very nice indeed. Thank you Maurizio!
We were really disappointed about our stay at casa dodici as it was the most expensive place we stayed during our trip to Italy and was described as 'boutique' and had good reviews. We arrived in the rain, mid afternoon and were left outside soaking wet ringing the door bell with no answer. After a while we called the number on the website and were told there was no receptionist and customers were to call on arrival which we were not informed about and there was no sign on the door. After a few minutes a woman who was clearly not a manager came over, showed us to our room then left. She didn't even ask who we were or check ID. We were not given any information or told where and when breakfast would be served (despite being a BnB, the breakfast is an additional cost, which seems crazy at the price we paid for the room). The room only had 1 flat pillow per person and no hand soap in the bathroom. This was clearly a mistake as when we came in the next day we had extra pillows and soap. However it is not acceptable to not have anyone on site to speak to or ask for things. We stayed for 3 days and didn't really speak with anyone. We only bumped into the owner very briefly outside the front if the property on our 3rd day. When it came to check out, our card had been processed and reciept left on the reception desk which a cleaner showed us to sign after we wandered around looking for someone to check us out. No one even asked if we needed anything or even if we had enjoyed our stay. We stayed at 3 other much cheaper bnbs during our travels in italy with wonderful breakfasts included and incredibly caring and attentive hosts so we're very surprised that casa dodici didn't even nearly match those standards. On a positive note the room was very clean, well presented and the shower is excellent. Good location also.
