We used this hotel for a stop off whilst driving around and it was useful for that, the breakfast was nice, the room was I clean, however there isn’t much to do around the area, unless you want to head to the beach, not many options for bars or restaurants either.
We stayed here for a week using it as a base to visit the ruins at Pompei, Hercualneum and Baia plus Paestum and two good vineyards North of Naples.
Access was good and we found the place easily using the sat nav in the hire car.
Check In was straightforward and our room spacious and clean with en suite shower room. Air conditioning worked perfectly well which was good as the temperatures in August in this part of Italy are extreme.
The desk staff were helpful (especially with things like how the local bus services worked, etc.) and had a good command of English (a big help in this part of Italy as some places have limited English (like my extremely limited Italian!).
Breakfast was continental (cheese, salami, ham, hard boiled eggs, good selection of fresh fruit, yoghurts, etc.) and served up until 10 am which was a bonus on rest days.
Evening meals are a delight - fish platters were tasty and reasonable for example as was the steak and pizzas.
Overall a good clean place on the seafront with plenty of small bars/cafes around and within easy reach of Salerno (15 minute drive) and Naples (50 mins).
The rooms are airy and comfortable, the restaurant acceptable and the location for touring very good. The beds and showers fine. Also close to a beach. The only thing some people might not like is that the road on which the hotel is situated seems to be the litter capital of Campagna: it is not a picturesque seaside but a strip of lidos which are only concerned with the seaward view and neglect the approach road. So better as a base than necessarily somewhere to spend the whole time.
Staff are also helpful and friendly though if you only speak English there might be occasional problems.
We checked in for one night. The girl on the front desk was rude and it was like we were interrupting her from her social agenda. We were given our room key and when we entered the room it smelled like very bad sewage back up. We complained and all they did was give us a bottle of drain cleaner. We had to sleep with the sliding door open all night but that still didn't help. My wife had a shower and the water wouldn't drain until she shut the shower off. It took about 5 minutes for the water to go down. She took one of her make up removers and wiped each corner of the bathroom window taking off mold..and also under the bathroom sink. It was full of mold. Our complaints went no where. We spoke again to the girl on the front desk ( same one who checked us in) and she shrugged her shoulders and that's when we asked to speak to the manager. The "manager" a woman from Russia, who told us that the smell comes from the sea when it's calm...yikes...don't believe that story. When she walked in the room it looked like she was going to throw up. She said they should have changed our room but they didn't. When you sat out on the balcony during the day you see garbage all over the beach, the sidewalks and in the nights there are hookers walking up and down the road. I was afraid to eat breakfast the next day but we did. They had very cheap meat, minimal pastries...the terrible coffee. We traveled around Italy for 3 weeks and were thankful we stayed only one night at this hotel. I really don't recommend going to this hole in the ground. They will probably reply with a bunch of lies, but that's OK we know the truth. I will be posting pictures along with this review.
I Stayed here with my grown up daughter for 5 nights 14th -18th September
We left early to visit Naples for 2 nights.
As we were not driving we were rather cut off from Salerno the nearest town a 30 minute bus ride away. The hotal offered a free shuttle service to salerno but when we checked were told we needed to pay 60 euro. So be careful if you wish to use this service.
The area has seen better days but the retaurant food was good as was service.
Road busy and noisy though our room was large.
There were numerous problems with communicating with the staff and were told bill was paid/ then it wasnt/ then it was.
If booking you will need a car,
Salerno was great to travel from to Naples/ Pompei/ ferries to positano.
Glad we spent 2 days in Naples.
