Booked a month ago and accidentally reserved a western style room, intending to stay in one of the lovely Japanese rooms pictured. I ended up with a really tired, 1980s room in an annex, with a view of the air conditioning system. There was no yukata or jacket for me, and they don’t allow tattoos in the Onsen. The private onsen is 2000¥ at least. When I visited the restroom outside the Onsen, the floor had toilet paper smeared with feces on it. Pretty disgusting, so I informed the staff as best I could with my limited Japanese and they apologized and addressed it. I also got a yukata... finally!
The beds are hard and worn out. The thermostat controls are pretty limited, so I woke up feeling really dehydrated and hot. I think this hotel is not worth 24,000¥ per night. I stayed in a Comfort inn in Maebashi for 4800¥ last night and the room was way better.
While it wasn’t the vacation I intended, the one thing this hotel has are kind staff. The old man at the ramen restaurant was especially sweet.
