Poor service delivery
The staff are rude
There was no towel, tissue or soap in my room and when I went to complain, the receptionist waived me away nonchalantly without an apology and I paid for two nights
I would advice the organization to look into the attitude of their staff most especially the receptionist
After many years of travel this is probably one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. I had not selected it but some else in the group of which I was a part. It is situated in a run down area of Lagos. The property is small and at the reception there was a total chaos. I was asked a price of USD 190 per night which after negotiations came to USD 130. The room which I was checked into was very small and completely unliveable. I asked for a better room and I was showed one but asked to pay USD 50 per night extra which after negotiations they agreed for USD 25 per night extra making a total of USD 155 per night. They asked to pay the entire payment in cash at checkin as their credit card machine was not working. The next day I found that this price of USD 155 was even higher than their rack rate of USD 135 per night !!! I asked for a refund which I got after many follow ups and threatens. I asked for the cash receipt which also came after many follow ups.
The room was bigger than the initial room but again in a run down condition. The wi-fi internet in the hotel was not working and I was told it would be operational only next day. Even next day when it became operational it was too slow and again by late evening it went down again. The TV has just 2 or 3 channels. The fridge door was not opening. Worst of all there was no water in the taps in the morning and after many telephone calls they could not set it right so the room had to be changed. The new room had the TV without the remote control which never came despite repeated requests. The lightning in the room is pretty inadequate,
Regarding the breakfast less said the better. It was only one egg omelette, dry toast and tea.
The staff was discourteous. Particularly Campbell and another fat lady at the reception. They had a conference room which was again in very bad condition. They served lunch (at a fee) which again was one of the worst I have ever had. I asked for a weighing scale to weigh my suitcase but they did not have any. There is not a single good thing about the hotel. The slogan of the hotel is “City’s best kept secret”. Let it remain a secret so nobody reaches there. My sincere advise – Never stay there !!!
Where do I begin from. Having visited Lagos a few times and wanting to try out recent
improvement in communications, chose to book this hotel. It was one of the few that
allowed me to book a room for 4 people, my family. It was for a 2 day stay to allow peace
before plunging into family visits. We did book an airport shuttle which did come but
was rather a smaller vehicle than envisaged as we were 4 with baggages. We managed to get ourselves in and off to the Hotel.
At the hotel, a few turns from Obafemi Awolowo way in Ikeja (a main road), we got to reception and had to endure a long wait till we were eventually allowed to the room. One Big bed in the room which in my estimation would take 3 slim models or 2 'real' people. We did complain about the size and they were kind enough to give an extra room! Then we could sleep comfortably. From then on, it was ok. So beware of the room sizes. When we needed transport/taxi, it was well aranged for us. It was pretty much average and overprized.
I was suppose to stay at this hotel with my fiancee for 15 nights, i arrived at the hotel, greeted by the staff, i was showed to my room, it was outrageous, filthy, dirty, remote control for the TV not working, i request a change, a staff brings me a remote control with no battery, terrible, to crown it all, the air condition kept leaking in the room, i had not even spent 2 hours at the hotel, i called the reception, they called a guy who claimed to be maintenance, he looked at it, but no difference.
I went to the reception the second time, spoke to a member of staff, imagine what the hopeless staff told me, that he will come and place a cloth on the floor, i wanted to bless his cheeks with a thunder slap.
Someone who claimed to be the manager overheard the discussion, and advised the hopeless staff to change my room, that he has been hearing me complaining for quite some time now, guess what he changed our rooms, the new room was no difference, the toilet seats were broken, no hot water, the bathroom was very dirty, my fiancee kept on ordering water in a bucket.
All the staff at this hotel require proper training because they all lack customer service.
After 2 nights of hell, i went to the reception, advised them that i wanted to check out, as the hopeless staff was assisting with my luggage, he damages the handle on my luggage, anyway, i did and moved to a better hotel in Victoria Island.
As they say, spend a bit more and you will get the service, so be warned about this hotel.
