We booked 2 nights at this hotel last December and had no hot water in the family room. When we reported it to reception they said 'I know'. There was no room to change to and we were offered another room to shower in but we didn't want to walk down the hotel corridors with children in pyjamas. We therefore said we would leave after only the first night. The man on reception promised they would only charge for one night but conveniently for them they said their computer was not working to print us an invoice so we had to leave with no paperwork. We trusted him and took him at his word only to find when we got home that two nights had been charged to our credit card. We have disputed directly with the hotel and through the booking agent but the hotel is denying we ever left after one night (didn't they see that the room was empty of belongings when they went in to make up the room?!) and lying about the hot water and alternative room situation. We have never received a refund of the night we didn't stay.
Incidentally the rooms we stayed in are starting to look quite tired and the hotel is not in the best location. It is no longer part of the Inter Hotel chain but is now called Hotel the Originals.
We have travelled extensively and have never before experienced any problems nor written a negative review but we feel extremely let down by the whole situation and have learnt the hard way never to take a hotel's word in good faith again.
Just stayed here for one night only and found the room clean and tidy .Only disappointing thing was the breakfast was very poor with only one staff and not topping up hot food when finished as he was also covering reception and didn’t have time.
Better than a f1 but not quite as good as a travelodge, though you do get toiletries. Clean basic room, a bit on the small side. Handy for the motorway if you are travelling to or from Paris. Reasonably priced.
Stopped for 1 night, clean serviceable rooms. OK it was boiling hot but so was most of Europe and for £170 for 4 rooms (2 sets of 2 interconnecting) it was fab. Beds were fabulous. Hotel is on the edge of town so nothing glamorous but plenty of parking and a great breakfast for 10 euro / 5 for kids. Only downside was that the bar area was closed at 10pm so just had to stay in the room. Otherwise recommended.
Hotel easy to find, perfect for an hour drive from calais .
Staff helpful, and rooms clean.
but major downside was 34’ heat and no air conditioning. Maybe a good for ski stop-over but v hot and uncomfortable night in th summer months.
