I had the opportunity to attend an Army ball with my girlfriend on Osan Air Base. The Turumi lodge on base was sold out, so I immediately perused TripAdvisor for options. Decided on the Zzam Hotel and booked at a good rate using Hotels.com (112? vs. 170?). My girlfriend and I spent one evening in the Zzam Hotel and felt very comfortable. Very friendly staff whose English was adequate. They were helpful in arranging taxis and guiding me where to grab good in the immediate area.
Hotel accomodations were modern. Abit drafty in the halls and the room was cold due to a window being left open (which I didn't discover until about an hour prior to our noon checkout lol) and the Korean ultra-hawkish electricity/gas conservation policy. So, lights and floor heat only kick in when the key card is inserted as featured in European hotels.
Smooth satin robes and abundance of shwr shoes. Hot water heater. HUGE bathtub with jets for 2 seated side-by-side and space for food, wine-no issues. Computer in the room which is standard for Korean hotels.
Tip: pass on the red wine.
Would've been a "5" if it weren't so chilly in the room and/or if the room heated up right away. But hey, I bet the Zzam Hotel utility bills are quite low and I respect consciencous use of resources. Don't confuse the Zzam hotel in Pyontaek w/ the one in Osan. Use Waze. 30-minute cab ride to Osan A.B. main gate. About 25? so cheap.
I spent here 6 nights during trip to Korea and I can say that I was pleased with the quality of service. The hotel is near OSAN bus terminal - just 5 minutes of walking. Also it's not so far away from shopping malls (eMart, Lotte mart) and from restaurant (Pizza Hut, Mc Donalds, Lotteria). My room included 2 PC computers with internet access, big screen flat TV, dobule-size bed, a sofa and shower and bathtub with jacuzzi. The room was cleaned daily basis, all the towels were exchanged, I had a lift by hotel bus to my place of destination in the morning, the staff was not fluent in English but there was no huge problem with communication. The only thing I can give a 'minus' points is the breakfast because it was few slices of bread with potato salad or peanut butter + small box of milk. There was also WiFi network available and micro-USB charger.
I can recommend this place if You visit OSAN city.
This was my first trip tp korea and while travelling to other provinces, I have to say that this was by far the very nicest hotel! Coming from canada I can honestly say I haven't found one this great at home!!! Service is great and it's cleaning staff are also amazing they are very helpful and kind, I would recommend this hotel to absolutely anyone...this will be my 2nd home...I will not stay elswhere in korea...thank you David and zzam hotel! it is within a minutes walk to trains buses and all the shopping u can handle! A really zzamtastic experience for myself and my fiance, thank you again zzam, yours truly john montgomery.
It is a clean place. The bed is not bad but makes some noise when you move (too much use?). Heating / air conditioning work well. The lighting ... well ... we can say that is in line with the atmosphere and although you want to stay completely dark there is always some ambient light that can not be disconnected. The bathroom is ok .. with a jacuzzi!
You have cable tv, wifi and a computer (win xp)
Not bad for a night or two and the price is not bad if you compare it to a traditional hotel.
But remember it's a love hotel and if you walk at night on the street to get to the hotel you can see couples smiling and out of different hotels in the area so do not expect much more.
while i was travelling through korea i've stayed at various hotels some being 5 star hotels and others being motels.
This was byfar the nicest motel i've ever been to... i hate to say it but it beats out most hotels.
i stayed in a $70ish CAD room. it had two computers a big screen tv, two sinks a full body shower, a huge jacuzzi bath tub and robes slippers, snacks and drinks.
