Hita is a city not very well promoted to foreign tourists compared with nearby Yufuin or Beppu. But that makes us love the city a lot. It gives the mixed feeling of Takayama and Kyoto.
We went there as a group of 5 people. Despite difficulty of our inability to communicate in Japanese, staff had great patience and were very kind in trying to help us. We would like to express our special appreciation for arranging late dinner for us as two of us had to go to other city to grab back luggage got swapped accidentally during our coach transfer.
Do not worry that the room does not come with en-suite bathroom, you will find no trouble with that as all communal facilities are very well maintained.
Lastly, the dinner there was among the best kaiseki I have had during my 4 visits to Japan.
