We stayed in Diamond Hotel Suits during our last night in Jordan. Coming from Madaba and heading to Jerash, Diamond is conveniently located on the outskirts of Amman - so you don´t have to pass through the city center. Traffic is horrible there anyway
Booked through Booking.com and received confirmation provided only the name of the street. Which apparently is a very long street. Use of house numbers doesn´t seem to be popular in Jordan, though it wasn´t a big problem anywhere else. But Amman in huge and the street, where Diamond is located, is many kilometers long! Called the hotel and it took them several minutes of rather pointless conversation ("Do you have a driver?", "Are you in Jordan?" etc) to provide me with address. The address is actually 53, Yajouz Street. House number is written in big blue numbers on the front of the building:) They really should add the number to the address, otherwise finding a place is virtually impossible.
However, once we reached the place, it was a good experience. Reception was friendly, room clean. The room smelled a bit of smoking - like someone smoked there long time ago. Luckily the smell wasn´t strong enough to disturb. Bed was comfy and room generally well-equipped. Nothing to complain about. All the regular things you expect to have in a hotel room were present. Wifi was free and worked generally well, though was a bit slow sometimes.
The hotel is on the big street with heavy traffic - but luckily we didn´t hear much of traffic, so the windows must have been soundproof enough. Private underground parking is a clear bonus!
Overall, good choice for a stay outside central Amman.
Booked 2 nights before joining tour group hotel. Location is near university almost 10km away from where I thought due to incorrect map on Trivago. Got in very late at 10.30pm due to non English speaking taxi driver having no idea where it was and incomplete address on Agoda confirmation voucher. Quick check in.
Room is large, pointless and ill equipped. This is a newish property but feels like an incomplete building site. Smells of cigarette smoke and has ashtray in the living room despite supposedly being non smoking. Large living area with TV, tiny fridge not plugged in with nothing in it despite mini bar menu. Very noisy, can clearly hear other TV's and noise from hallway. No complimentary tea or coffee despite calling reception for it this morning nobody has come up. Wifi VERY patchy and difficult to access despite although free. No information folder. Bed hard and uncomfortable with 2 small pillows. Curtains are little more than rags which don't block the light. Bathroom is tiny, almost an afterthought squeezed between bedroom and living area. Rubbish shower with small inadequate curtain and bad smell coming from plumbing. Toilet not clean, in fact whole room not up to standard. No privacy tag for door. No iron despite there being a small ironing board. Room was freeing - aircon very loud even with ear plugs and does not heat sufficiently.
Got woken up at 6.30am to sound of building next door - my bedroom is right next to it and I was given no warning. Phoned reception to complain and get a room change but nobody has come back to me despite saying he would. I am booking a hotel elsewhere for second night and may lose money but preferable to staying here.
Do not waste your money.
