We loved our time at The Taj Gir Lodge.
Beautiful views from the property and in the centre of the action where you need to be.
Lovely room, excellent meals, loved having breakfasts and lunch outside on the veranda.
The music troupe in the evening was good but the soloist at breakfast was a bit grating.
After an excellent game drive some peace at breakfast would have been good.
I own and operate a DMC. I stayed for a night to see if it was viable to recommend to my Clients.
The property is well done but tents are not suited for the summer. A bit uncomfortably warm. There was some reason to which the ACs never ran all the time with temperature soring close to 40 degrees.
The safaris were delayed, definitely not recommended if you are serious into Photography.
The point of contact for me is Mr. Hardhik
And had dropped a deposit for March 2018, but cancelled in October 2017. Until end of Jan, no refund has been made. Various reasons like the below were given:
1. The owner was busy during the state election and was unavailable to sign the cheque for RTGS
2. After election, the representative kept delaying that the finance team wasn't doing the needful to process the refund.
3. Then he said if by Jan 10th the payment isn't done, he personally guaranteed to pay back (highly unlikely). Until today Jan 23rd 2018, no refund is received.
They don't answer calls, respond to messages or.mails. pathetic customer service.
This is a new place, opened a year ago. it used to be called 'Jimmy's Farm' but has now changed hands and name. There are regular rooms and luxury a/c tents with attached baths. Food is cooked as you request (we asked for Gujrati specials and was delighted). The housekeeping perfect, the grounds and surrounding farms and forests enchanting. The only problem was that the lodge is not adequately mapped or marked on the roads with arrows or directions. We were lost looking for it in the jungle and local people were no help. There is also The Lords' and 'Gir Lodge' that are confusing. Suggest appropriate signs directing to the Lodge.
We had booked 2 tents for 2 days. The tents are very spacious. We checked out the other rooms also . All rooms have their own special aura and view . The food cannot be described and can only be savoured to know its uniqueness. Its luxury with true stay in the forest interior. You can also be lucky to view many animals within the premises. To cut it short and in short of words for this fabulous place and it can only be EXPERIENCED.
