Has an elevator, that was nice. Staff was fine and helpful, English spoken. Room was fine for the price. Ants would show up when food was in the room. If you don't like insects, don't go to SE Asia. I see insects in almost every environment, sometime even in 5 star rooms. I've had a lot less for the same price so I was satisfied. 3 day stay.
An average sort of hotel, service and staff ok, restaurant so so, most of the items on the menu they didn't have or run out. On our last day at about 2pm there was a blackout and the hotel generator didn't work, we were told nothing and at about 7.30pm I told them that I was checking out, they didn't even have a torch to help me see to pack, Good thing was that they booked us into the Comfort Star 1 Hotel which we didn't have to pay for. The HOTEL NEEDS TO HAVE THE WATER SYSTEM FIXED THE WATER FROM THE SHOWER WAS JUST A TRICKLE,, I complained about it every day but no luck in getting it fixed
Have stayed at Comfort Star 2 on and off for the last three years (sometimes for a month or more) and find the staff great very organized and polite. The rooms are spacious the bed is comfortable, linen is changed every day and cleaning is done daily. Laundry service is also very good, clothes are washed and ironed daily.Rooms have a fridge,TV, large shower and toilet area, huge wardrobe, chair and desk for computer, wireless or data cable internet connection, two bottles of water supplied free each day.
Tuk Tuks are always available at the front of the hotel (street 200) drinks are available and a restaurant is at the back of the hotel.
The only downside is some of the shower bases are cracked (they have not been bedded correctly)
Also at the back of the hotel there is steam and sauna, large hot and cold pools the area is very clean unlike some other places around Phnom Penh, clean clothing and footwear are supplied on entry, all this for the princely sum of $5 stay as long as you like. The women at Comfort Star 2 are very well trained in the art of massage and give the best deep tissue massage in Phnom Penh but not much English is spoken
Unfortunately there is no Steam/Sauna hot and cold pools for women but there is a very good foot massage downstairs and full body massage is also available again the staff are excellent
