This was a super place to stay...modern city feel, in the heart of the stylish jewish centre...and 10 min interesting walk to other sights. apartment was spacious, staff were always friendly and efficient. really enjoyed stay here.
When we first arrived, it was around 9am and the traffic in Krakow was very bad. We were lucky that there was someone else waiting to meet with Daniel, the guy who eventually arrived and showed us around the apartment itself. He was very apologetic about his late arrival, but as we'd been able to sit inside while we waited, we weren't too bothered!
We were staying in apartment #4, and it was perfectly clean and tidy. The people that we met who were connected with the running of the property were very pleasant and we had a direct mobile number for someone in case there were any problems.
The apartments are not above a gentlemans club - they are actually above a frame shop!! (ooh, how controversial!!)
My advice is that if you're a bit easily offended, then you shouldn't be travelling to a city/country where such 'clubs' are commonplace. The club in question is next door, but as our apartment was right next to it, we can confirm that you don't get disturbed by it at all (at least not during the week!)
There is noise from the main road next to the apartments - but again - don't stay in a city if you do not want to be disturbed by the normal day-to-day operation of a city!
We found several nice places to eat/drink cheaply on ul Josezfa (the road opposite the apartments) - but we don't want to ruin the local secret, so no names/addresses - go and have fun trying them out for yourselves!!
Overall, we were impressed by the standard of these apartments, and if we were to revisit Krakow, they'd be our first choice!
We stayed in the Apartment Nro. 5. It was dirty the bathroom and also the kitchen. They told us that a cleaning- lady would clean inmediately, but nobody came. We had to clean the dirt from our previous guests. No comments!!!
Also very noisy, the tram passes by the corner and it seems that going through the apartment. Impossible to sleep. I do not recommend. People did not attempt to return the money we spend to buy the cleaning products. We had a very bad experience.
Just returned from Kazimierz De Luxe apartments (golden). The apartments are very nice and clean and the location is pretty good (although a 20 minute walk from the main square). The staff are friendly and the apartment is very secure. However there are a few down sides to this apartment.
1 - Its practically directly above what was described as a "private Gentleman's Club, with beautiful cute girls" (i've got to be carefull as i advised this on another site and they changed it to a nightclub, which it clearly is not!!! )
2 - its a little noisy in the morning with a busy road outside and the curtains are so thin they don't actually keep the sun out, so don't expect a geat sleep.
3 - it has a beatuiful spiral staircase which leads to the upper level, but it's only about 4 foot high so i doubt anyone would be able to stay in the upper level.
It is a wonderful city and these things i have listed about the apartments are minor faults and they didn't really effect our time in krakow - however you should bear in mind when booking.
Just returned from four nights in Krakow, really loved the area, the people and the apartments, here are some brief thoughts about our trip,
Transfer - was booked via Hotelraider.com, no problems at all, slightly more expensive then picking up a taxi at the airport but only just, man was waiting for us on arrival and was extremely prompt for return journey, money well spent we thought,
Apartment - Very comfortable, booked via Cracowonline, around 10-15 minute walk from the Rynek Glowny, pleasent walk passing the castle, no sign of any trouble when walking back late at night, felt more safe in Krakow than at home,
Only one minor gripe about our apartment (number 5) no shower curtain so could not use the shower, this was not a real issue though, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine, huge fridge freezer provided, would definitely use again in the future,
Area - a pleasure to stay in Kazimierz, the locals made us feel very welcome, also no feelings of tourists being exploited like in some other cities, whether that will come in years to come, I sincerely hope not, lovely moody bar within a 5 minute walk, just up from Plac Nowy called Pozytywka, lovely coffee and great value cocktails,
Beer - WOW! talk about mind blowing, the polish beer is amongst the best I've sampled, will be looking out for it over here now.
Vodka - again, amazing, would definitely recommend the Wodka Bar just passed the Rynek and next door to Rooster's, especially the Cranberry Vodka, I am now a converted Vodka drinker.
Food - Being the run up to Christmas a couple of restaurants we wanted to try were fully booked, so just ate where we could find really, if you like Pizza Calzone would recommend Carlitto's on Florianska, the Georgian Restaurant next door is really busy and very cheap, two meals and two pints for £6.
WIne - on SW Jana there is a lovely little wine bar called Amphorium, opposite the cinema, a litre of very nice red wine is £6, another little gem of a place.
All things being equal, we loved Krakow, would have loved some snow but we can't control the weather, the polish people are lovely, the city beautiful, we rate it as our best City Break yet, and we will definitely return.
